Circular Community Hubs
In collaboration with Cheng San Community Club, Upcircle ran a community space to engage residents that was fully circular - a fully volunteer-run thrift store that gives things a second life, and donates proceeds back to the community. We breathed new life to unwanted things, taught workshops, and even enabled artists to showcase their mural art on our walls!
Over a period of six months, we built a team of 20 volunteers who managed the Community Hub every Sunday. A total of 6 workshop sessions were organised, with more than 50 participants in total.
Part of the proceeds from the shop's sale was donated to the Cheng San Community Club's Welfare Development Fund for low income families. These families were also given vouchers to use for items at the store.
